Vesta Completes 30,000 Square Foot Plant Expansion

Vesta Inc. has completed a 30,000 square foot expansion of its Franklin, WI, manufacturing facility, allowing for significant workflow and efficiency improvements in its silicone molding, extrusion and assembly areas.

The enlarged molding area features new injection molding machines, plus a new ventilation/filtration system that earned Vesta a Class 100,000 controlled environment rating. The extrusion area boasts a new airlock between the receiving and mixing areas, preventing dust particles on packaging from reaching the mixing area. The assembly and secondary operations areas have been reorganized to allow room for more personnel and equipment, including robotics and automation equipment used in larger volume projects.

Now totaling 65,000 square feet, the upgraded facility also features visual access to the production floor without gowning, separate rooms for shipping and receiving, and enhanced HVAC mechanical and electrical systems throughout the manufacturing areas. Manufacturing support areas including engineering, tool maintenance, administrative offices and quality assurance have also been enlarged to accommodate Vesta's growth.

"We're confident this expansion will help meet our customer's silicone medical device needs more effectively and efficiently," said Glenn Hubbard, president.

Vesta Inc. has specialized in the manufacture of silicone medical extrusions, components and devices since 1972. From its newly expanded and modernized facilities, Vesta is able to meet any volume silicone rubber requirements.
