Assembly and Secondary Operations
In our HEPA filtered environment, we perform assembly and sub-assembly of medical devices. Our secondary equipment includes specialty jigs, fixtures and multiple assembly stations, and our plant facilities feature environmentally controlled clean rooms and flow booths. We can combine silicone components and customer-specified non-silicone parts into complete devices and provide 100% functional testing.
The Assembly Process
After molding or extruding subcomponents to your specifications, we assemble the components into simple or complex devices using a variety of methods, including insert molding, bonding or reinforcing. Insert molding joins parts by injecting silicone around an existing part(s). Bonding entails joining one or more components together with silicone adhesives.
Vesta also performs other secondary operations including slitting, punching, trimming, beveling, tipping, silk-screening, marking, skiving, cuffing, dipping, bundling and functional testing.
Assembly Automation
For assembly projects, Vesta often designs and builds proprietary jigs, fixtures and assembly equipment to ensure efficiency and consistent quality. For higher volume parts and assemblies, we apply robotics and other automation tools to the process. Our specialty machinery includes:
- Computer-controlled hold drill/punch machines
- Microprocessor-controlled tubing cutting machines
- Digital tubing cutting machines<
- Coiling, deflashing and washing machines
